The Regional Centre, Chennai has established a library with ink-print, Braille and audio books attached to the Special Education Department. These books are mostly used by professionals, students, research scholars and persons with visual impairment. It has a vast collection of overseas publications on visual impairment and rehabilitation. World renowned journals in the field are subscribed. Documents of research studies are also available. Further to these, awareness materials in video formats produced/dubbed in regional languages are also available. These audio books are supplied as per demand for broadcast in the community radio stations for the benefit of college students.
A Resource Room has been established with various software and assistive devices. The teacher trainees of the Institute, vocational trainees and researchers working in the area of visual impairment are using the services of the Resource Room.
