The Regional Centre, Chennai, has established a library with ink-print, Braille and audio books attached to the Special Education Department. These books are mostly used by professionals, students, research scholars and the visually impaired. The library has a vast collection of overseas publications on visual impairment and rehabilitation. World renowned journals in the field are subscribed. Documents of research studies are also made available. Further, awareness materials in video formats produced/dubbed in regional languages are also made available. These audio books are broadcast by the community radio stations for the benefit of college students.

A Resource Room with various softwares and assistive devices has been established. The teacher trainees of the Institute, vocational trainees and researchers working in the area of visual impairment benefit by the services offered in the Resource Room.
