A two-fold strategy is evolved to get placement for the visually impaired clients trained at the Regional Centre. A data-base of the visually impaired is maintained in the unit. The Placement officer facilitates the clients to locate the source of employers in response to employment related advertisements in various newspapers for posts reserved for the visually impaired. Necessary information about jobs and application forms are regularly sent to the ex-trainees of this Centre. These candidates are also helped to register their applications online whenever required. Liaison with private employers is also made from time to time to seek employment opportunities for the clients. Further, the Placement officer visits various companies to liaise directly with the employers to explore work opportunities for clients trained in call centre operations similar to BPOs. The clients are also encouraged to participate in job fairs conducted by various organizations, both government and NGOs.
